In one word: Volcanic
GPS: From Fira to Perissa turn after Megalochori to the sign leading to Vlychada. The route (as the beach) is totally volcanic. There are bus routes as well.
Picture: White volcanic rocks create a wonderful setting, while the relatively shallow and calm water of Vlychada create an ideal atmosphere for several hours at the beach.
Beach Life: Two kinds of sun lounger. At first comfortable with beach service from the cave canteen, then more classical and beyond at the unorganized part of Vlychada you can go if you like swimming naked.
People: Couples and groups of young people mainly. Locals and tourists.
Food/Drink: At the parking area before the beach are several restaurants, as well as on the road over the marina or at harbor of fishermen.
After beach: Take a stroll down to the edge of the beach because the white volcanic scenery changes colors at the sunset. Also, in August and September the sun sets in front of the sea of Vlychada.
